4 Companies Leveraging Immersive Shopping Experiences to Enhance Their Customer Experience

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a good experience is priceless.

Shopping for furniture online is historically a bit of a risky prospect. You can't examine or inspect the physical products. You can't take your own measurements or see how they feel.

You basically have to take it on faith that the imagery provided by the retailer is accurate and true to life. If you're wrong, that means figuring out how to ship the product back. That process is usually a complete nightmare for customers and retailers alike.

But offering a better, more engaging and immersive visual experience is far easier said than done, and it can be difficult to even figure out where to start. That's why today, we're going to review a few companies that have successfully implemented furniture visualization through Tangiblee — and what they achieved in doing so.

Apt2B

Virtual Room Design

Mat Herman and Alex Back saw which way the wind was blowing in the retail space long before their peers. That's why in 2010, they founded e-commerce furniture retailer Apt2B. Beginning as a small, bootstrapped startup, Apt2B by 2018 had grown into a nationally-recognized and nationally-distributed brand. Beck and Herman knew that in order to provide a top quality experience for their customers, they needed to elevate the look and feel of their site.

With this in mind, they reached out to Tangiblee, incorporating both our Compare To and Lifestyle Imagery features. They also later implemented our Room View feature.

Compare To allows customers to gain a more accurate idea of the look and size of Apt2B's products. Lifestyle imagery ensures the company can easily maintain high-quality imagery for its catalog of over 3,000 SKUs. Finally, Room View lets customers visualize how a product will look in a virtual space.

Since implementation, Apt2B has seen a sevenfold increase in conversions and an 11.8 percent increase in average order value in visitors that interacted with Tangiblee.

Coleman Furniture

Room View

Founded in 1999, Coleman Furniture maintains a product catalog of over 30,000 SKUs, and has been recognized as the sixth fastest growing private company in America's retail industry. Yet Coleman isn't content to simply rest on its laurels — it is an organization in perpetual growth mode, constantly seeking to embrace and adapt to new trends.

Digital retail was one of those trends. Seeking to increase conversion rate, cart total, and overall engagement through a better customer experience, Coleman partnered with Tangiblee. It deployed both the Room View and Compare To features, increasing average order value by 20.5 percent and revenue per visitor by 37.4 percent.

HipVan

Compare To

Founded in 2013, HipVan was established to sell better-designed furniture products at a more affordable price than one would typically see in the wider industry. From the outset, the company understood the importance of customer trust, and the role a frictionless experience plays in cultivating that trust. HipVan's attractive value proposition — a high-quality, well-priced catalog backed by a generous return policy — was on its own insufficient.

When Tangiblee reached out to HipVan, the company recognized an opportunity. It knew that it could use our solutions to solve an important customer pain point. It deployed Tangiblee with Compare To and Room View as a short pilot which eventually transitioned into a long-term contract.

Tangiblee has helped HipVan reduce return rates by 15 percent and increase revenue per visitor by 9.1 percent.

home24

Virtual Room Design

Operating across Brazil and continental Europe, home24 is a pure play home and living e-commerce platform founded in 2019. After experiencing significant growth during the pandemic, the company set out to make its website more interactive and engaging. It knew that if it could provide online shoppers with the same experience as outlet shoppers, it would increase buyer confidence and reduce buying hesitancy and returns.

After evaluating several different vendors and completing several limited pilots, home24 ultimately chose Tangiblee. The fact that our solution was simple to integrate and our collaborative approach to partnerships was highly appealing to the vendor. However, the real deciding factor was customer feedback —  during each of its pilots, home24 also ran a user lab which received almost universally positive feedback.

The company has since experienced a significant increase in conversions and an associated reduction in product returns. It confers with Tangiblee on an ongoing basis to share feedback about our solutions and create a roadmap for future implementations.

Feeling Inspired? Why Not Take the Next Step with Tangiblee

With more and more people shopping exclusively online, furniture and home decor retailers can no longer afford this kind of thing. They need a means of increasing buyer confidence and reducing the risk of a return. They need to go beyond basic photography, and instead provide shoppers with the ability to actually visualize their products.

Tangiblee helps them do exactly that — and we can help you, too. Schedule a demo today.
